Known as microcosm of modern Asia, Singapore is a fusion of culture and history, boasting a plethora of culinary delights. Officially the Republic of Singapore, it stands as both a city and a country in Southeast Asia. A top destination in Asia, Singapore seamlessly blends a fast-paced urban lifestyle with traditional heritage.
The Maldives offers a visa-free entry for most tourists, making it a convenient and hassle-free travel destination. Here’s a breakdown of the visa policy for tourists:
Visa on Arrival:
- Nationals of most countries, including India, are eligible for a free visa on arrival in the Maldives.
- The visa is valid for 30 days from your date of entry.
Visa Requirements:
- A valid passport with at least 6 months validity beyond your intended stay in the Maldives.
- Proof of onward or return flight ticket.
- Proof of sufficient funds for your stay (bank statements or credit card details – requirements may vary).
- For stays exceeding 30 days: A visa extension may be possible, but it’s recommended to check with the Maldives Immigration Department beforehand.
Exceptions
- A few nationalities might require a pre-arranged visa. It’s always best to check the official Maldives Immigration website (https://travel.immigration.gov.mv/) for the latest information and any exceptions that may apply to your nationality.
Most Indian passport holders require a visa to enter Singapore. Exceptions include: Diplomatic, official, and service passport holders
Visa Application Process
- Indian passport holders can apply for a Singapore visa online through the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) website or through authorized visa agents.
- You can no longer walk in and apply directly at the Singapore Consulate.
